Edinburgh Contemporary Crafts aims to establish a multi-disciplinary workshop which will: support new and established makers, encourage collaboration and innovation, actively engage all areas of the community through courses, projects and membership and promote public appreciation of craft through a changing exhibition program and permanent gallery/shop.
Edinburgh Contemporary Crafts was established in November 2011 by Louise Smith who studied Craft for 4 years and continues to combine disciplines, working in print, metal, clay and wood. The studio is home to 9 resident makers and during the first 18 months over 200 people have taken part in courses, with the majority returning regularly- thank you all for your support!
There's tons to choose from: pottery, jewellery, bookbinding, textiles, printmaking and dressmaking and they'll all be taking part in our wonderful fully equiped new studios!
